Everything happens in three is a statement I grew up with engrained into my head. “The Holy Trinity” is one of those things. In my first class on art education, we had a unit on papier mache. And I will be honest, I despise papier mache. I hate its texture, how wet and sticky the glue is, and how anything that you do as you work with it can mess up your final product. I was vocal about it throughout the entirety of the project; I am sure my professor and classmates grew tired of it. But I persevered and made these three clown masks. Each is distinct in its coloration, shape, and personality. I went back to basics and played with shape-personality and color, something to have fun with despite my hatred for the material. “The Holy Trinity” is fun in three-fold to survive sensory hell.
